How Do You Make Decisions?
Decision-making—some people thrive on it, while others feel like they’re drowning in a sea of what-ifs. When it comes to running a business (or just life in general), decisions are constant. Some are small, like what to eat for lunch. Others feel massive, like pivoting your entire business model or investing in a new program.
So, how do YOU make decisions?
The Many Styles of Decision-Making
Let’s be honest—decision-making isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Some people:
🔹 Overanalyze everything – Researching, making pros and cons lists, and then… still second-guessing.
🔹 Follow their gut – Instinctively knowing what to do and trusting that inner nudge.
🔹 Ask for outside opinions – Seeking guidance from mentors, friends, spirit guides, or even flipping a coin.
🔹 Avoid deciding at all – Hoping the Universe will make the choice for them. (Spoiler: not choosing is still a choice.)
My Process for Making Aligned Decisions
For me, decision-making is a mix of intuition, practicality, and energy alignment. Here’s what I do when I’m faced with a big choice:
- Check in with my energy. Does this decision feel light and expansive or heavy and draining? If it feels like pushing a boulder uphill, I pause.
- Consult my spirit team. I’ll meditate, pull some oracle cards, or just sit in stillness to see what messages come through.
- Look at the practical side. Will this decision support my core values (freedom, fun, and family)? Will it move my business forward in a way that feels right?
- Listen to my body. If thinking about a decision gives me a headache or tightens my chest, that’s a clue. If I feel excited and open, that’s another.
- Make the choice and trust it. I remind myself there’s no “wrong” decision—only experiences and learning opportunities.
